Born in West Sumatra, Mr Aulia live since 20 years in Bali.As tribal art/primitive art specialist he work a long time to help people to find and date old wood art from Indonesia. But after a long and interesting period the copiying of this kind of art break his full interest of this job.

So Mr Aulia decide to work for himself providing to his customers its own furnitures and primitive artefacts.

Since he start, Mr Aulia work discretly, refusing to join the game of the competitors. Increasing its talent by the time, the people realise how Mr Aulia can be creative and artistic. First as an architect, it's easy to find publications that speak around the works of Mr Aulia as a reference in traditional wood architecture.

Actually many competitors already copy the furnitures of Mr Aulia but it's not so much a problem for him because like he said:
"Aulia's customers knows how we make the difference, we don't need promotion, the customers come see and touch our furnitures and if they like it they buy it, and most of the time they send us their friends and Aulia goes like this since years, i never have to push somebody to buy our furnitures and you know, our furnitures are sometime expansive but our customers know why because we work in a transparent way, providing to our customers all the certificate to prove the origin of our woods ... like this they know where come our wood from, how old they are and in wich conditions we collect it, working legally with wood in Indonesia is an important point for our customers who love old wood but also respect the forest".

So Aulia work in a simple way. Most of the time Mr Aulia create the design of the furniturs but always said:" The nature make it first, i just improve it in a simple way to make it comfortable for the people, that's why i don't give name to my furnitures because i don't want to appropriate these natural presents."

Working in a simple way is the way that Mr Aulia choose but also it's not easy to find the stuff. Because working with old teak wood from 300 years old become a real challenge after years."

Working as a team

Each worker of the Aulia company is a specialist who know exactly his functions and work hand in hand with the others like a family. Working with solid teak wood everyday is a big satisfaction but each item is so heavy that each of them need help of each other.
